My husband also surprised me by bringing home NINE chickens, along with the baby goat. The large red hen laid her first egg yesterday, and it was beautiful and big and brown. (Not pictured are the four baby chickens - 2 Ameraucanas, one black one, and one Silkie.)This little backyard homestead makes me so happy!
